Do You Suffer From Sweating Excessively

August 31st, 2009

Very often personal problems are just things that a lot of individuals are quite uncomfortable divulging as they have the ability to cause an even greater amount of anguish and nothing illustrates this more than the large problem that many people face of excessive sweating. By sweating too much, it can turn the simplest of activities into a thing that the affected personwill try and avoid for this fear of sweating excessive amounts making them embarrassed about the problem. This can also lead to larger problems as people who sweat excessively may even start to think twice about going out in public or even going to their work place and this is extremely serious indeed.

To counteract this sweating too much there are ways that a person can try to stop and control the amount that they sweat. For some sweating excessive amounts is something that they want to stop as soon as possible so they don’t even want to consider natural methods which can take time to show results.

If this is the case a person might want to try oral drugs to control sweating but these must be prescribed by a doctor. Botox injections are also popular in reducing sweating but they are painful, costly and do not last longer than six months. In some cases surgery on the sweat glands is used to stop a person from sweating excessive amounts.

Perhaps Botox and surgery do not sound too appealing so you might want to try drinking a cup or two of sage tea each day as this can produce some good effects. Similarly freshly grated tomato juice is very good and should you wish to try this method grate the tomato then drink it and do this once a day for a week. After this time you will notice a reduction in sweating and from the second week onwards you only have to drink a glass every of tomato juice every other day.

A Guide to Workplace Planning

August 31st, 2009

Introduction

In the current economic climate, it’s not just employees who are coming under scrutiny in many organisations, but the effective use of work space as well.

With major advancements in the use and availability of mobile technology, it’s much easier and in some cases much more efficient for both the employer and employee to agree a flexible working arrangement. So as well as the more traditional arrangements for office based personnel, employees are now able to work from home and work from several locations during the working week. Even when in an office environment, hot-desking, touch-down areas or hotelling are all common arrangements being made for the mobile employee.

In providing this flexibility, it’s important that the employer considers how to ensure that the business premises are used to their maximum efficiency. It’s a major challenge for any employer, who will not want to see rows and rows of empty desks day after day.
Effective workplace planning is something that many organisations are now considering. There is much to consider such as minimum space requirements, lighting requirements, fire exit and disabled access considerations , to name but a few. So seeking the advice of a specialist workplace planning contractor could prove a effective investment.

It’s not just about effective planning and utilisation of space. Is mobile working and the creation of touch down areas right for your business? In some organisations, the company culture and the flexibility of employees will mean that such initiatives will work. In other companies it may not. There are many things to consider in planning the workplace environment. No two companies are the same. For one organisation, it may be decided that a stimulating working environment for employees is required, whereas with other organisations effective use of space around the office location will be a priority. Which ever is effective for your organisation, you will want to ensure that the company’s culture and values are clearly understood by employees.

The work schedule can take several weeks or in the case of larger projects several months to complete. Either way, from the outset the project needs to demonstrate a clear plan to maximise the use of space, office and layout design, construction timescales and management of contractors whilst on site. The company’s employees will also need to be temporarily relocated whilst the work is undertaken. There are also stringent health and safety regulations concerning the office environment, which must be adhered to in the planning of the project.

Workplace planning contractors will undertake a site survey of the business premises to try and understand if such a scheme is likely to be a success. From the contractors point of view, it is a worthwhile exercise, to take time to discuss and agree the options with the client to ensure that once the plan of action is agreed, work will be scheduled to ensure the minimum disruption to the business. Taking time to assess your workplace planning requirements is an essential element of any office reorgansiation

Space saving office fit outs can transform any commercial area to a more pleasant working environment.

What should be taken into consideration when planning the workplace area?

One of the most critical considerations when undertaking workplace planning is to be absolutely clear about what tasks will be performed in the designated areas. Different layouts, different furniture, the amount of space required, should all be considered depending upon the tasks to be employed in the area. So whether the workplace is to be for permanent staff or flexible workers, consideration needs to be given to the comfort of the working environment, to aid productivity.

Permanent workers will spend many hours at their work station so it is important that consideration is given to individual work areas. The correct provision of the appropriate office furniture and equipment all aid productivity and efficiency levels. Each employee will require their own personal space around their work station. No one likes to be closed in and there are many variations of desk design, from single to multi desk designs to ensure enough space for each employee.

Comfort at the desk is a key priority to ensure that health problems are avoided through being in the seated position for long periods of time, so a comfortable chair is essential. Lighting is also a key consideration. A more pleasant working environment is created where the office is well lit , but consideration will also need to be given to avoid glare on computer screens. Telephone communication also needs to be well appointed on the desk. Equally, for the mobile worker, ease of connecting up a laptop and mobile phone will be essential.

It is important to consider all of these issues to, as far as possible avoid distractions from other areas of the office which could interfere with work. However, employers need to get the balance right, as it is just as important to maintain good communication and working relationships within the office. Ensure that every employee has enough space to effectively and efficiently undertake their tasks, without being distracted by other workers close by. Therefore, in some cases, the provision of a conference room to enable one-to-one or group discussions to be held, may be another effective element of the office design.

In my opinion, the most effective way in which to ensure that employees buy-in to what the employer is trying to achieve is to consult with the employees. Through consultation, the employees can give their views on what type of workstation will be best suited to performing the tasks.

For example if the environment is to be used by a sales person, where regular communication with clients is required, then a slightly more secluded working environment may be preferred to avoid background noise, particularly if discussing detailed proposals or contracts. A sales person is one type of employee who will have mobile working requirements, where a small amount of their working week will be spent in the office, whilst the rest of their time will be spent out on the road visiting potential and existing clients.

If the environment is in a finance department or call centre, then the use of system desking or multi seated work stations may be a more appropriate solution, where a number of employees can be seated in a work area together..

Cost effective office refurbs are becoming increasingly popular.

Health and Safety in the office

Whatever the office conditions, the employees should be allowed a degree of flexibility to set up their work station to suit their own needs. As long as the employer has provided and considered the requirements of the working environment to allow employees to undertake their work effectively, employees will want to add a personal touch to their own work area. As long as employees do not place their own health and safety or that of others at risk, then there is nothing wrong with the employer allowing some flexibility with this.
Guidelines for use of equipment at the workstation

Taking time to ensure the comfort of employees at the workstation can reduce health and safety problems in the future. Every one enjoys working near a window and if this is possible, the reflection from windows onto a computer screen can make reading of the screen difficult. Therefore, window blinds or shades need will need to be supplied to enable employees to control lighting conditions.

In situations, where the workstation is to be used for longer periods of time, guidelines recommend that the use of computers may require an anti-glare filter to be placed across the screen to eliminate problems with reflection. A computer screen is recommended to be at least 25cm from eye level.

It is also necessary to ensure that enough electrical points are available, for additional communications equipment such as mobile phone chargers and laptops.

Employees may also require printers or scanners to be located on their workstation.
The correct seating is critical of any workstation design. Perhaps the most important feature of the workstation is the provision of the correct type of office chair. Many hours will be spent seated at the workstation, so the better the quality of office furniture, the less likelihood there will be of receiving complaints from employees about discomfort in the back, shoulder or neck area of the body. The chairs comfort and design can impact upon how effective or productive the employee will be. So it is good practice to test some desk chairs for comfort before purchasing too many.

Good morale amongst employees is positive for your business and a comfortable working environment will help the cause. I was recently involved in a project to set up a new call centre to accommodate eighty call centre agents. Following much discussion with the office design contractor and consultation with around twenty existing agents, plans for the new look office were agreed before the contractor went away to draft the plans. The existing agents felt that team working was important and therefore it was agreed that the most effective office layout would be for the call centre agents to be located in teams of six around a circular desk system.

Once the plans were finalized, over a three month period the office layout was developed. Taking time to involve the existing agents has proved very effective indeed, with all call centre disciplines showing good signs of improvement.

For warehouses, large industrial shelving racks may be what you are looking for.

Fire Exit Considerations

No matter what type of business you operate, employers must comply with regulations around safety at work, and this includes what to do in the event of a fire.In today’s health and safety led environment whether it is at home or in the office, the installation of fire alarms is common place.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, was introduced to provide guidelines for businesses on what reasonable steps should be taken to reduce the risk from fire, to occupants of the building . More importantly the Order contains advice to business owners to ensure that a safe escape plan is in place should fire occur.

Generally speaking, ensuring fire safety within premises is a common sense approach. It is important that in any workplace planning programme, that time is taken to identify for example, where the nearest exit routes are for employees to safely leave the building and where employees should congregate upon evacuation of the premises.

In some premises of course, hazardous materials may be in use within the building and therefore it is wise to seek further advice from fire safety advisors who can advise on how to take specific precautions. Equally, office buildings on several floors will also require advice from fire safety experts to ensure safe exit routes are identified. Many businesses now appoint fire marshals whose responsibility it is, to make sure that every one within the building is aware about what they should do in the event of a fire.

In any work environment , escape routes should be safely and immediately accessible at all times and suitable for the number of people likely to use them. They should not be obstructed in any way and accessible for emergency services.

Guidelines do recommend that at least two fire exits should be available if a premises is to be occupied by more than 60 people. The guidelines also extend to the number of flights of stairs and passages of corridors, so your workplace planning considerations will need to comply with the regulations.

Disabled Access

There are many considerations for employers to be mindful of when planning to accommodate disabled people within offices and premises. Under the Disability Discrimination Act every business is required to make ‘reasonable adjustments’ to the working environment to ensure that people with disabilities are not discriminated against.

These include making adjustments to the workplace to ensure ease of access for the disabled and providing suitable modified office furniture to provide the same level of office comfort as able bodied employees.

Conclusion

It can be a cost effective solution to engage with a workplace planning specialist to review the layout of your current workenvironment. There are many rules and regulations to comply with, so taking time to consider the implications of precisely what is required is imperative. Do not under estimate the amount of issues to consider in making your workplace a pleasant working environment.

Unfortunately we live in a society where employees are quick to point the finger of blame at their employer for failing to provide the correct workstation or office furniture. So the contractor and client should take time to undertake a site survey, establish what is required from both the employer’s point of view and that of the employee to ensure that the end result meets both the needs of the employer and the employee. Productivity and morale will be greatly improved in a pleasant working environment.

Make Your Wedding Ceremony More Personal With These Eight Creative Ideas

August 31st, 2009

In present times, brides and grooms are steering clear of the traditional format of wedding ceremonies and are making their own versions of a wedding ceremony with their own personal touches. Though many couples are keen on making their ceremonies more personal, coming up with the ideas to actually go ahead and do it is easier said than done.

Some possible ideas:

Have friends and family do readings; this is an idea around for a long time, but more traditionally with bible or other ceremonial readings. More and more often, friends and family are learning poems or other more personal things than simply learning from the bible. You can ask your friend or family member to read something of your choice, or you can ask them to choose something themselves, which will be a surprise for you.

Custom-tailor your vows; this is also not such a new idea, but many people are still doing it. The idea behind this originally was to take out any vows that seemed old-fashioned, but the practice has taken on a whole new life and many brides and grooms are writing their vows entirely from scratch, from an entirely personal standpoint.

The bride and groom can also tell a fun story for the guests; for example, they can each prepare a short version of how they met and became a couple. In this format, the experience is not only fun for the guests, but also fun for the bride and groom to see how their stories differ. Alternatively, they can prepare something together.

Butterflies or doves; this practice has taken on new life in the current era where many people are marrying outside. The practice of setting butterflies or doves loose is a nice symbolic gesture; irregardless, it can be more challenging to execute perfectly.

Have the person marrying you be someone you understand; more and more often couples are choosing to have a friend or a family member marry them instead of holding a priest or a justice of the peace who they’ve never met before. Even if the person performing the ceremony doesn’t say anything special beyond the standard ceremony, it still feels warmer and more personal when you are standing there with a friend or a family member. You can also have him or her say a little something about your couple.

Make your own symbolic rituals; there are a lot of symbolic rituals in a lot of religious ceremonies, for example the unity candle in a Catholic ceremony or the breaking of a glass in a Jewish ceremony. If none of these traditional rituals appeal to you, start your own ritual. The idea behind making your ceremony more personal is to do it your way-so, anything goes!

Play your songs prior to the ceremony or at places within the ceremony. Almost everyone these days plays their song during the reception, usually their first dance, but you can also include your song(s) in the ceremony. Play a few special songs before the ceremony starts, or pick intervals in the ceremony where you can slip one of your favorites into the ceremony time.

Put a special poem on the wedding program; the program is another place where you can make your ceremony more personal. Especially if you are going to read a poem during the ceremony, it’s nice for the guests if you also put it on the program so that they can read it on paper while it’s being read. Placing it on the program also makes the wedding program a nicer keepsake for years afterwards.

Whatever you decide to do, don’t be afraid to make it personal. Your wedding is your special day, and there should be plenty of room within the format of the day to let yourselves express your feelings in a personal way.

Restore Your Wine Cellar With Floor Tiles & Air Conditioning

August 30th, 2009

Owning a heritage home can be a nightmare when you want to repair it or have any other building work done. You will tend to find that if you want to keep the look and feel of the home, then you will need to hire specialist heritage restoration builders. No matter which part of the house requires building work, you need to get a balance between modern living needs and being consistant with the existing design.

A house that has a disused basement is a fine example of the type of heritage restoration building project. First off all you need to look at what sort of brickwork was originally used, what type of building work is required and what is possible. Once you have a clearer idea of what is required then you can work out the best options for the job. If you were considering turning the basement into a wine cellar or a children’s playroom, then you may need to make rather different changes.

When putting in a floor for a basement you need to consider what it is going to be used for as well as looking at the condition of the basement. You don’t want to spend money on a variety of décor and building products, only to find that the basement floods. Once you are assured that the basement is safe then you can look at the next step.

Floor tiles can make a major difference to any room, so making sure you get the right type of floor tile to suit your needs is important. Natural stone or ceramic floor tiles would be the best for a wine cellar as they are easy to care for and clean. Natural stone floor tiles don’t absorb much heat so they will help maintain the correct temperature to store the wine.

When you are storing wine for a long period of time, then it is vital that you create the right atmospheric conditions. An effective way to achieve the best temperature and moisture levels is by installing an air conditioning system that allows you to monitor and control the environment. Most air conditioning installers will put in a special control system for wine cellar cooling that helps maintain the temperature at around 12 degrees with 50% relative humidity. The wine cellar cooling system will allow the environment to be maintained at a constant level by reducing moisture in the air that can damage corks and cause labels to decay.

0800 freephone numbers Providing more than just a free call

August 30th, 2009

Nearly everyone knows that phoning an 0800 number from a landline will cost them absolutely nothing. That is the beauty of 0800 numbers. They actually encourage people to call them because there is no barrier between them and the organisation that is using them.

That’s why 0800 numbers make good marketing phone numbers. If an organisation wants to attract enquiries all they need to do is promote their 0800 freephone number in an advert or on their website and they can watch the calls flood in. In fact, research by the Institute of Direct Marketing has stated that using an 0800 number can increase enquiries by up to 185%.

So, if a company was generating £5,000 in a typical month with their normal landline – they could actually make an incredible £14,250 if they used an 0800 phone number.

But that’s not all…

Like all non-geographic phone numbers, 0800 numbers enable organisations to smarten up the way they deal with their callers with various online call management systems. For example, welcome messages are popular because they introduce callers to the company that they are dialling e.g. Welcome to Windsor Telecom. Not only does this create a professional impression but it also encourages more people to stay on the line as they are certain that they have dialled the correct person or company.

Additionally (and this is one of the key reasons that all non-geographic numbers are so popular), 0800 numbers are completely portable. They simply work in tandem with a company’s landline or mobile number and can literally follow them wherever they go. This receiving number can change instantly too which means that if someone wanted to take some of the calls to their 0800 number on their mobile on one day and some on their landline, then they could do this simply by going online and tapping in the new receiving number. This ensures that all calls are received which could equal more sales for businesses, more enquiries for councils and more donations for charities, for example.

A portable number is also invaluable if a company needs to relocate. They simply change the receiving number to their new landline number or to their mobile to ensure that their existing customers can always get hold of them – wherever they are.

As this article shows, 0800 numbers offer more than just a free phone call and if people are smart they can find a 0800 numbers provider with the most memorable numbers on the market at the most competitive prices.

Buying Dinnerware

August 30th, 2009

Buying tableware can be a big choice.  You want something that lasts a long time.  Stoneware dinnerware is one of the strongest types of dinnerware, besides bone china and porcelain.  Earthenware dinnerware will chip easily and crack in the microwave or dishwasher after only a short amount of uses.   Earthenware dinnerware will also feel like it is lighter weight than  Stoneware dinnerware.

When shopping for dinnerware, be sure to look to see if it’s lead free.  Lead free dinnerware is an important quality to keep your family safe.

You should also look for a company or pattern that has more than just a basic box set. Accessories such as a gravy boat, platter, butter dish, sugar creamer, and salt and pepper are often useful in setting different meals.  Because you are choosing a dinnerware pattern that you would like to keep for many years, you should wisely choose a company that you believe will continue to manufacturer your dinnerware for more than 6 months.

For some people, dinnerware is also a way to add color to their kitchen.  dinnerware accessories such as pitchers, bowls and platters are used as center pieces and vases to decorate tables, mantles and sideboards.

Many people like to buy made in the usa dinnerware. While it can be more expensive, american made dinnerware is sometimes considered a higher quality product.  Dinnerware made in the USA must adhere to FDA standards of safety, while imports are not always held to these regulations.

Personal Mentors: A Necessity For Online Success

August 30th, 2009

Beginning Internet marketers world over make a big mistake on a daily basis which costs them the success they are after. The mistake that they make is that they do not look at themselves as professionals or business owners. Which means that they are not taking advantages of many of the tools for success like a business executive or a company would to make sure they were profitable. So it is time for you to ask yourself, are you a professional business owner/executive or not?

If online success is what you are after then hopefully your answer was that you are a professional. I am going to let you in on a little secret, the handful of Internet Marketing gurus out there that are making the big money see themselves as businessmen or businesswomen. That internet marketing is not just something they do, they do it to make money… a lot of money. They have a plan, they do what is needed to improve their strengths and they know what to do to cope with their weaknesses.

The only thing that is hindering you right now is your perception of who you are and what you are doing. It doesn’t matter if you are new to internet marketing or if you have been in the field for a while. The bottom line is, are you making the money you want to be making? I am willing to bet the answer to that question is no. The reason isn’t the market, it isn’t the product, it isn’t the economy… it is your perception of yourself.

Therefore it is important to change your mindset. One of the best ways to do that is work with a personal coach or mentor in the internet marketing field. This is a strategy that major companies and top executives in all areas use to increase success and profitability. The difference here is that you are the company and you are the top executive. So the only one responsible for making sure you are using your full potential is you… and the personal coach you should work with.

Personal Mentors offer a number of benefits to the person they are working with. The first and foremost is their experience. You aren’t going to be working with someone that is just starting out and getting their feet wet. A personal mentor is someone who has been there, done that, so they know what works and what doesn’t. Which means that you get a huge advantage because instead of having to learn it all yourself, you have someone right there providing solid insight and guidance. A personal mentor that can teach you how to build your business the right way step by step has just saved you more time, money and frustration then you can imagine.

This leads way to the second benefit of working with a personal mentor, which is knowledge. One can not stress enough that time is money. If you were to sit and try to learn all of the ins and outs of internet marketing on your own it would take you years to get to where you would be owning and running a successful internet marketing business. When you have the advantage of working with a personal mentor and are able to use their knowledge, make it your knowledge and create a successful business you are will have saved yourself thousands of dollars and in the process created a way to be making thousands of dollars.

A third benefit is vision. Next to not looking at yourself as a professional business person the next huge mistake you can make is being blinded by the amount of money you want to make. A personal mentor is going to help you create real vision, which is long term vision. When it comes to internet marketing that means a mentor is going to help you create a business that has a very high click through and purchase rate. A personal mentor is also going to help you establish website that is optimized for longevity. Yes, financial goals are going to be part of the business plan; however they can not be the foundation of your business.

Finally, personal mentors provide direction. A personal mentor is going to assess your strengths and your weaknesses, teach you how to improve on your strengths and deal with the weaknesses. They are going to help you lay out your plan on how you can be the most successful internet marketing professional in the field.

Do You Know The Basics About Auto Insurance?

August 30th, 2009

Before you go out on the road and have an exciting drive in your new car, you have to get good car insurance first. But do you know what auto insurance all about is?

Auto insurance is a type of insurance that consumers can purchase for truck, cars and other vehicles. It provides protection against losses incurred. Depending on the type of coverage purchased, buying auto insurance can protect you against the cost of repairing the vehicle following an accident. The cost of purchasing a new vehicle if it is stolen or damaged beyond economic repair and to the legal liability claims against the driver or owner of the vehicle following the vehicle causing damage or injury to a third party.

The risk associated in buying a new car is not fully covered by a comprehensive insurance. There is generally a period in which the remaining car payments exceed the compensation the insurer will pay for a destroyed vehicle, due to the sharp decline in value immediately following purchase. To protect the consumer on the market, GAP insurance was established in the early 1980’s. GAP protection was developed because of the escalating price of cars, extended term auto loans, and the increasing popularity of leasing.

Liability insurance covers claims against the policyholder and generally, any other operator of the insured vehicle, provided they do not live at the same address as the policyholder and are not specifically excluded on the policy. Those living at the same address must specifically be covered on the policy. Generally, liability insurance does not protect the policyholder if they operate any vehicles other than their own. You are just covered by another party’s policy if you drive a vehicle owned by that party.

Liability coverage also extended when you rent a car. But in most cases, comprehensive policies or full coverage may not be applied. It is because the insurance company does not want to assume responsibility for a claim greater than the value of the insured’s vehicle, assuming that a rental car may be worth more than the insured’s vehicle. But some states, it extends to rental cars. Most rental car companies offer insurance to cover damages to the rental vehicle. In some regions, the “Loss of Use” or the costs associated with not having access to the vehicle is also covered.

Now that you learn what is auto insurance is, it’s time to get an auto insurance deal!

Antique Pocket Watches, Digital Technology and More

August 29th, 2009

The new craze in the world of pocket watches is the digital pocket watch. Long time watch enthusiasts are not the least bit enthused about this new comer to the world of watches. The average watch lover is use to ole time movies where the good guy or the bad guy pulls out his pocket watch attached to a long chain and checks the time on an antique, featuring Roman numerals. How many times have we seen a movie where something is supposed to happen at high noon? The real watch people knew what high noon looked like on an antique pocket watch. Imagine that same movie where something was supposed to happen at high noon and the villain pulled out a shiny antique pocket watch with the matching chain, opened up that classy old school cover and it was digital? Just takes all the authenticity out of the moment doesnt it? Dont take my word for it. Go to a local watch store which has both types of watches and compare the two for yourself.

Another type of time piece that is becoming more and more popular is the atomic watch and atomic clocks. These are digital time pieces but they come equipped with an excellent feature that other watches do not have. Each night, all atomic time pieces are set using the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) transmitter. Most elgin pocket watches are great quality watches. This ensures that each one of these time pieces stays set accurate. The radio signal that is used to set the time pieces is strong enough to stretch over the entire US.

The electronic timepiece is not a new invention as most people probably know. Watch enthusiast say that these electronic pieces first started getting recognition around the 70s. Some say that a movie that was made around 68 which featured a made up electronic clock was the inspiration. One of the very first electronic time pieces was made with an LED diode. Most pocket watches are valuable time pieces. When a section of the watch was pressed, the user could see what time it was. This actually took a great deal of battery power to use. The next version had an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) which did not drain the battery as the diode did. This was the first time that digital wrist watches burst onto the scene.

Technology has come a long way since the diode and the LCD watches. The newest technology comes in the form of an atomic clock that can be accurate with in 1 second and does not need to be set for years. Some antique pocket watches are nice enough to give as presents. This would far surpass the current technology of atomic clocks and watches which currently need to be set every day from NIST in order to keep their accurate time. This is an amazing feat. Technology has truly come a long way and who knows what is in store for watches and clocks in the years to come.
