Just Got Back From Up And Getting A Classic Mustang
Well, I have not been able to talk on the site quite as much as I had expected, on account of all the time I’ve been dealing with my old man with his incredibly wacky midlife crisis. True, you might think it’s not as far out as it might be. The thing is, what he did was to go and dress himself up like the Fonz, and drop by to my house and proclaim to me, in his hippest possible vocal tone: Come on in, boy, we’re out looking for some classic Mustangs for sale. You heard that right, buddy, I’m going to get myself a real cruiser.
Next thing I know he & I were off to a few of those crazy classic car showrooms that I’m always pretty much convinced are not exactly legit, and I witness the dude made out a check without even stopping to think, for an alarmingly well-preserved classic mustang. It really is an intense machine. It sounded great as well.
You’ll notice I put about that sound in a past tense. It sounded really nice right up until it seized up completely. The old man says that it’s a really quick thing to fix and that all it will take is the right part. Of course, it can’t possibly be as painless to pick up 1966 Mustang parts as it was over 30 years ago, but my pop informs me there is a really good-sized aftermarket for them in spite of their age. It seems like the surest way to get you parts for classic Ford Mustangs is by way of internet auctions, since you can find them refurbbed and often as good as they were 30 years ago. Not necessarily available for a nominal fee, however… I mean, they are 30-year-old classic car parts.
I guess it could’ve been worse… He could have got himself a harley.
